Swatchfest: Urban Decay Ocho Loco 2 Set

Urban Decay came out with the Ocho Loco 2 set as a part of their 2013 Holiday Collection. Along with the Vice 2 palette, I definitely wanted to grab myself one of these sets before they sold out!





The Ocho Loco 2 set contains eight full size (1.2g of product each) 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils (five of which are new and exclusive!) as well as a Double Barrel Grindhouse Sharpener and retails for $59.00. The pencils and sharpener come in a pretty sweet looking cardboard tray with a color gradient to match the eye pencils. Urban Decay really knows how to do packaging well.

As always, all of the pictures were taken in natural lighting and the shadows were swatched on bare skin (no base or primer).

If you've ever tried Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils, you know how pigmented and smooth they are and the pencils in this set are no different. They glide on so easily and took some work getting off, which is awesome for an eyeliner. There are no duds in this set!

The Ocho Loco 2 set is an amazing value. One of the full size 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils retails for $19.00 and you get eight plus a Grindhouse sharpener (normally $10) for $103.00 off of what you would pay if everything was bought individually. Today was not a great day for me makeup-wise. This look took me much longer than it should of. That's the cost of taking two months off, I guess. For some reason after I messed up real good the third time, I decided to just go with it and this is what happened. I debated whether or not to post this because it's not my best work, but I really love the how well the oranges and copper go together. Maybe I'll do a "remixed" version in the future and use all of the same products to do a different look. I don't know, maybe Cleopatra would have liked this. Haha.

I don't think I've ever (in my life) done an orange eye look. The Venus shade from BH's Galaxy Chic palette was just too gorgeous to ignore! Plus, I know a ton of you really liked it!

I think I'm going to start doing more of these (while still posting FOTDs as well) so let me know what you think! It's a little more convenient right now since my husband is still on nights. My desk/vanity is currently in our room and I'm too blind to apply makeup in front of the bathroom mirror. I feel bad cos the lights normally wake him up and I make a ridiculous amount of noise when I put on makeup; shuffling products around, opening and closing drawers, and I am also super good at dropping everything. These eye of the day looks take significantly less time to do, so I won't bother Ryan for too long while I'm applying my makeup. That and apparently I have a skin tag (we think?) located right under one of my eyes. I don't know where it came from and hope it goes away soon because it is less than cute.

Also, I'm sorry that my eye isn't in focus! I took at least 20 pictures and in all of the pictures with my eyes open, the camera decided to say "Oh yeah? Well, I'mma take a picture of your eyebrow now!" instead of focusing on my pupil like I wanted it to. Oh well. At least I learned that if I have time, I should look at my pictures before taking off my makeup so I can retake them if need be. Hooray for learning!
