Stila came out with four "In The..." palettes quite a bit ago, and I finally got two: In The Garden and In The Moment! This post will focus on In The Garden because I'm pretty sure it's my favorite out of the two.
In The Garden is an eight pan palette (1.5g each) with a "smudge stick" (0.28g) as well as an instructional look book and retails for $39.00. The packaging is made out of a lightweight cardboard and opposite of the shadows is a quote reading "a confident woman knows her inner beauty will captivate you, and her eyes will mesmerize you - sarah lucero." Under each eyeshadow pan, the name is clearly written, which you know I totally love!
According to Stila, the descriptions of the eyeshadows included are:
Chinois - matte creamy white
Breeze - shimmery beige
Bark - shimmery taupe
Freesia - shimmery violet blue
Rosette - metallic pink violet
Nectar - matte creamy beige
Honey - metallic bronze gold
Sage - shimmery translucent green
Moss - dark olive green with shimmer
Juniper - deep shimmery forest green
The palette also comes with a Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Starfish (black with gold and green pearl).
Smudge Stick in Starfish
As always, all of the pictures were taken in natural lighting and the eyeshadows were swatched dry on bare skin (no base or primer) with a finger. The only problems that I have with this set is that the matte colors (Chinois and Nectar) seem to be a bit chalky and my Starfish Smudge Stick won't twist, so I can pretty much only use it a few times. The Smudge Stick in my other palette has the same problem and I hear that it's not that uncommon. I can definitely see myself using this palette a lot in the coming months though!
Do you have any of Stila's eyeshadow palettes? What do you think?
Beautiful colours! I'd contact Stila about the Smudge Stick to see if they can send a replacement though as it's not on to not be able to use a product properly x
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and really get you ready for spring colors! Or maybe it's because I'm really tired of seeing snow outside, haha.
ReplyDeleteLovely swatches, I love any excuse to buy a new eyeshadow palette. That really stinks about the Smudge Stick, though! I'd definitely contact them as well.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I love seeing the swatches. I have the Stila In The Light palette & I love it! I hate to hear that your smudge stick isn't twisting, but I agree with previous commenters, let Stila know they will probably try and help you out some how with a comp or credit!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's too late to contact them. I bought both palettes (if I remember correctly) around Christmas time. My intention was to contact them, but with the busyness of the holiday season, I totally forgot! I'll give it a shot though!
ReplyDeleteThis palette is going to be great for the spring! Not to fuel your habit, but it IS a lovely set. Haha.
ReplyDeleteIn The Light is on my shopping list! I feel like that's the most popular and I can see why. Beautiful neutrals, for sure!
ReplyDeleteWow love the range of colours. That Honey is jaw dropping awesome.
ReplyDeleteTotally perfect for spring! I can't say that I'm not jealous that you got so much snow! I miss it!
ReplyDeleteYes! I totally agree!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! Love freesia and honey.
ReplyDeleteFreesia and Rosette are my faves!

ReplyDeleteStila did a great job putting this one together, for sure!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous mix of colours. Too bad about the smudge stick, though.
